Everybody wants something for nothing and what better way can you do that than by winning a competition?
As with the surveys
there are loads of competition sites on the net and most of them require your details when you sign up which they then use to
send you targeted marketing emails on products that you might be interested in (it's like opt-in spam) based on the information
you provide. So far, having entered countless competitions that promised anything from cash, to a holiday to a new car,
the only thing we seem to have won so far is a massive influx of marketing emails and the odd phone call telling us that
we're interested in buying a holiday villa in Spain. Are we? Maybe we are and Cash Ninja forgot...
Cash Ninja suggests before you embark on anything like this that you set up a new email address (use
googlemail or something similar) and that way if you do get fed up of getting millions
of emails that you have unwittingly opted in to, you can just stop using the account.
A lot of the competitions are very easy to enter and there are a wide range of prizes on offer. As of yet we haven't
won anything but if this changes we will keep you posted. There are even some sites that you can pay a fee to who specialise in entering you
into loads of competitions and will even guarantee that you'll win something within a given time period. We haven't tried
any of those out yet. We guess Cash Ninja will have to at some stage and report back on the findings. In the mean time, if you want
to get loads of emails about stuff you're not interested in and probably not win anything, try these three sites:
