Cash Ninja was started in late 2007. The brainchild of one man, a graduate of Anglia Ruskin University. I had been self-employed for some time working as a punt chauffeur. In an attempt to avoid working outside over the winter again, I was looking for ways to earn an income without having a regular job or having to go outside too often. Whilst searching the internet for ways to make money from home I came across this website: 101 ways to make money online amongst numerous others.
I decided that, as well as trying out filling in online surveys, playing internet poker, selling stuff on ebay, etc in an effort to make money I would publish my experiences on this website. Operating on a shoestring budget (ie trying not to spend any money wherever possible) and attempting to maximise my profits I was attempting to sort the wheat from the chaff amongst all the multitude of competing websites that claim they can provide you with the best ways of making money online.
It was my experience during those early years that searching for terms like make money online and variations of them often came back with results that were either very spammy, or obvious affiliate sites selling 'get rich quick' type systems that were dubious at best or a combination of the two.
Yes. Despite the silly logo and the often light hearted or sarcastic approach I take towards some of the articles the underlying intent of what I do is very serious.
I spent a fair bit of time and effort on this site back then, before returning to my full time occupation once the sun started shining again. Since then I have added occasional updates to this website but since 2009 those updates have been few and far between. However, now my focus is is returning to these endeavours. Whilst the main purpose of this website has not been to make money but to chronicle my efforts elsewhere, it does generate a negligible amount of cash, mainly through ads placed on the site.
All gambling related content has been removed from this site and set up as a separate site on its own and I am working on a number of other projects. As those progress to either success or failure, I'll put the details up on this site.
I have removed the previous figures as they were way out of date and not particularly relevant. I'll put updated information up on the site once there is something worth talking about.
I have set up a few affiliate links, there are some ads on this site and I might add a Paypal donate button (or two) so if you find the information we provide useful and wish to contribute to our efforts then you can.
On top of making money on the net, I've also focussed on ideas to make money from home and business opportunities. Things like what's involved in doing medical trials, or how to get involved in promotional work. These are all things I either have personal experience of or contacts who have been involved in these kinds of jobs. My aim is to provide you with as much information as I can.
When I find useful websites or resources that help us, I will link to them from the appropriate sections on this site so they can help you too. Over time I would like to hope that this website can also become a useful resource to help others.
Well that's the idea but it should probably be learn while we learn! I reinvest any income I make from this site back into the site so that I can improve things and try out other ways of making money. Share trading, spread betting, property investment and other things that require a cash injection in order to be successful (most of these are what I call 'phase 2' strategies as they take a larger capital investment to get them off the ground).
I buy the ebooks and sign up to the offers so you don't have too, then I'll tell you whether I think it's worth it or not. I aim to take a light hearted approach to a serious subject matter.
